Fuck You Very Much Progressive

I've used a manual wheelchair for some 24 years, after a drunk driver decided I didn't need a basketball scholarship.  I used a normal two door car that I could easily disassemble my chair and load myself into, in a matter of seconds...but not anymore.

My shoulders have been run ragged, and getting into and out of a car and taking my chair apart causes me great pain.  So, I was forced to sell my car, and purchase something that that I can roll up into with a power chair.

Spinal cord injuries do more than paralyze limbs, but internal systems malfunction too.  My life now is really just a serious of paths of least resistance between accessible bathrooms.  Sometimes when I get there its occupied, dirty, or out of order.  At this point my day has taken a tun for the worse, and I'll need to return home, or have others suffer me.

My solution to both of these problems was buying a Class C RV, a mobile command unit, something with an accessible bathroom I'd never have to wait for, and a shower to freshen up, if an accident were to happen.

The problem is that there are no accessible RV's, each and everyone has to be adapted, doors made wider, steps eliminated, and so on.

I sold my Camaro and bought a 1979 Ford Coachman on January 14, less than halfway through the month, after paying $330 to Progressive for my car.  When I called to move the policy over to my RV, I was informed that making the "internal doors wider" would mean I could not cover the vehicle.  So, I requested am immediate refund so, I could find another carrier.

Instead of offering me $150...they offered me $77.97, "when they get around to it."

They kept my money, then left me without the ability to procure transportation, BECAUSE I'M IN A WHEELCHAIR, AND I HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS.

Then, they blamed my bank...and claimed they issued the funds Friday, the 14th.

Here's proof that's a lie:

A

As you can see PROGRESSIVE released the funds on the 19th...

All I needed was wider doors INSIDE my RV...so Progressive kept fucked me, spitefully.

If you are with Progressive, or are considering a policy with them, KNOW they don't give a fuck about you, as a person with individual needs.

  1. They notified your bank on the 14th that an electronic transaction was going to occur. It takes up to 5 days for the transaction to happen between financial institutions. Many businesses, such as your insurance company, give you credit for a payment on the day of the original notification (before they get the money). Banks will not give you credit for a transfer automatically so your complaint is with your bank. Banks hold money every day of the year fo multiple reasons but mainly to make sure that the transfer has happened.
You do not state what the effective date of your policy is, just complain of the date when you called to cancel your policy. Policies all have effective dates and the date that the money is due. Many consumers do not understand the the date that the insurer agrees to take your payment is not necessarily the date that the policy is effective. IE: Your policy starts on the 1st of the month and your premium due date is the 10th. You are paying 10 days after the effective date. You have been given 10 days of coverage. Later you decide to cancel on the 1st of November, thinking that you have 10 days of a refund coming. Your policy is paid through the effective date of the 1st and you may not get any refund.
You should have checked with Progressive before you purchased the motorhome to make sure that it would be covered on a personal lines auto policy, and if it would be covered for modifications. You ASSUMED that it would and bought it so that you can be comfortable with your disability. That mistake is on you for not calling to discuss your situation and following the advice you were given Do you make similar assumptions about your medical insurance? Will every purchase you make be covered because you want something different?
Obviously you are still mad about what placed you in your situation when you were injured. I think you owe Progressive a written apology and a retraction. I do not work for Progressive
